Meditative Practice Week 2

March 12, 2023 Master Mike was ill and we were unable to do class #3 as scheduled. So we had an impromptu Meditation and Kyber Beacon. For those of you unaware of what a Kyber beacon is, it is a form of energy work done chiefly by members within the community wide group known as Jedi CAN. It is a cooperate, guided, meditative practice meant to focus energy for one disaster or one person or one situation. This beacon session was for Mike. After that, Jedi did what Jedi do, and that is. talk ALOT. We ended up, all told, spending about 8 hrs on video, which reminded me quite a lot of those deep conversations we have at gatherings.  Regarding not being able to have class, I found that I was quite dependent on the schedule as part of my routine. Many thanks to Karina who suggested having a beacon put out for Michael since it took the place (in my routine) for the hour. This break in the classes also allows me to get rooted in the practice explained in the first class: breathe, foc...

Grow a Plant from a Seed

Image
Grow a Plant from a Seed (Knighting Assignment 30) Grow a plant from seed. You can start a whole garden, but one plant will be fine. Take a couple of pictures of the plant growing. Write about your experience. Practice feeling the Living Force and focus on how the pant feels throughout the process. In October of 2022 I bought a hydroponic garden. It has space for 8 pods. The photo below is the beginning of the process. I planted seeds on January 7, 2023 I have never been able to keep plants alive, so we shall see how it goes. The process includes creating a greenhouse environment, which is why there are small plastic bubbles In the following movie you can see a snapshot of the progress of this project: Plant Project  Some of the plants have died. The hardest loss was my tomato plant. It began growing very well and was the star of the show for a while. What I noticed was that it was preventing my other plants from growing. I attempted to transplant it, but it had gott...

Meditative Practice Week 2

3/5/2023  I completed Master Mike's class on feeling the Force. I wish that it was an audio guided meditation so that I can include the steps in my regular meditation. I'll create an audio version and put the link here with Master Mike's permission. I'm wondering how long each phase should be. Perhaps 5 minutes for each step. For the record here are the steps: Step one: Breathe Step 2: Focus. You may use a song, a phrase or a mantra as a focusing aid. I find it useful to keep the breathing pattern that was established in step one in mind as well.  Step 3: Unfocus, step back, or "stare at the air".  I have found that this occurs naturally when one enters the meditative state, but in the off chance that it does not, recall a time in which you have daydreamed. That here but not here feeling is what we are looking for. The key is not to force it.  When I was learning these steps years ago, I thought it was important to get to all the steps in the first go, but I ...
